Principal - Dr. Dania Freudenburg
Dr. Dania Freudenburg is proud to serve as the principal of Deerfield Elementary School. She is deeply committed to supporting students, staff, and families and believes that strong relationships are at the heart of a positive, thriving school community.
Throughout her career, Dr. Freudenburg has served in a variety of roles, including high school principal, district administrator, and curriculum developer. No matter the position, her focus has always been on creating inclusive, supportive learning environments where students and educators can succeed. She has also led initiatives in STEM, cybersecurity education, and school communications, experiences that have shaped her broad and collaborative approach to leadership.
Dr. Freudenburg earned her Doctorate of Education in Administration and an Educational Specialist degree from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, and also holds degrees in business education and business management. This diverse background allows her to blend instructional leadership with thoughtful organization and clear communication.
Outside of school, Dr. Freudenburg lives just outside of town with her husband and their two children, who attend Blair Community Schools. Being part of this community and personally invested in the success of our schools gives her a deeper understanding of students’ and families’ experiences and inspires her work every day.

Teacher Leader - Mrs. Tatum Hartvigsen
Mrs. Hartvigsen is an enthusiastic educational leader with 24 years of experience dedicated to student achievement and organizational excellence. As the Teacher Leader at Deerfield Elementary, she serves as a key assistant to the Principal in all operational areas. Her role is central to the daily success of our school, where she manages building logistics, scheduling, and information tracking. Mrs. Hartvigsen is a strategic leader who specializes in transforming academic performance through data-driven decision-making and collaborative leadership. She leads our student discipline initiatives, coordinates 504 programs, and spearheads building-level technology integration. To further her commitment to excellence, she is currently completing her K-12 administrative endorsement through the University of Nebraska-Omaha and Kearney.
Mrs. Hartvigsen’s commitment to our schools is deeply personal, as she was born and raised in Blair and is a proud graduate of Blair Community Schools. She has also raised her own three children here, all of whom have graduated from the district. Before stepping into her current leadership role, she spent two decades as a dedicated educator within the Blair, Elkhorn, and Omaha public school districts. She holds an M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and is certified in various specialized programs, including the Boys Town Well Managed Schools. Mrs. Hartvigsen is passionate about creating a dynamic learning environment where every student at Deerfield can thrive both academically and personally.
