About Deerfield Elementary
Deerfield Elementary School — A Foundation for Lifelong Learning
Deerfield Elementary School proudly serves students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade as part of Blair Community Schools. Located in a welcoming neighborhood in Blair, Nebraska, Deerfield serves just over 400 students and opened its doors in 2008 to support the district’s growing community and provide a modern, student-centered learning environment for young learners.
At Deerfield, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and excited about learning. Our school community is built on strong relationships between students, families, and staff. Teachers and staff work intentionally to know each child as an individual and to create a positive school culture where students feel valued and encouraged to do their best each day.
Instruction at Deerfield focuses on building strong foundations in reading, writing, mathematics, and critical thinking. Classrooms are designed to support both whole-group instruction and small-group learning, allowing teachers to meet students where they are and provide targeted support or enrichment as needed. With small class sizes, students benefit from meaningful instruction and personalized attention.
Deerfield also supports the whole child by emphasizing social and emotional growth alongside academics. Students are taught skills such as responsibility, cooperation, and problem-solving, helping them grow as learners and as individuals. Title I services and additional supports are available to ensure all students have access to the resources they need to be successful.
Family partnership is an important part of life at Deerfield. We value open communication and welcome families as active participants in their child’s education. From classroom activities to school-wide events, Deerfield is a place where families, staff, and students work together to support learning and build a strong school community.
Deerfield Elementary is more than a school. It is a place where children build confidence, form friendships, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
